Director & head florist Wendy and florist Lou had a Scottish adventure this autumn!
Wendy, along with Jo, is a co-chair of grower-florists’ network Flowers From The Farm. She headed north of the border accompanied by Lou to join fellow co-chair Debbie from East Lothian Flowers for the FFTF Scotland gathering.
The event, at Tomnaha Market Garden, attracted FFTF members from across Scotland. They brought with them buckets full of their gorgeous flowers and foliage ready to design and create urn and bowl arrangements during the day. Additional sessions included a presentation on the Edinburgh Flower Hub trial.
Wendy said, “It was fantastic to meet and spend quality time with colleagues from across Scotland. With growing conditions and business challenges very different to our own it was a real learning opportunity. As a co-chair it gave me a lot of food for thought. It was also my very first trip to Scotland; what a wonderful introduction to a beautiful country!”

Lou added, “I loved our Scottish adventure. Meeting everyone and taking part in the creative sessions was fabulous – it is always inspiring to see other florists at work and to get design ideas and tips from other professionals with expertise working with seasonal British flowers.”
As an added bonus, renowned photographer Eva Nemeth, who has worked with Organic Blooms previously, was on hand to capture the creativity. Eva’s photos provide a wonderful record of this inspirational event.
