Trainee profile: Andrew

Passionate Liverpool FC supporter and Guns ‘n’ Roses fan Andrew is a very hard working and reliable member of our trainee team.

He can usually be found working outside in our cutting field weeding, preparing beds, mulching, planting, pruning and wood chipping paths, however his flexibility is an asset and he often steps in to help prepare and pack our Abel & Cole orders.

Andrew is truly one of life’s good guys. He is known within the team for his empathy and gentle nature and is exceptionally kind and supportive to his colleagues. A great listener, his peers turn to him when life throws up challenges and opportunities. Andrew moved into an independent living flat in early 2022 where he enjoys helping to look after the garden and cooking (chilli con carne is a favourite!); he has recently been mentoring a fellow trainee as they prepare for their own move into independent living.

Andrew is passionate about visiting Canada, where he has family – he spent several weeks in the beautiful city of “T’rono” earlier this summer and indulged his love of sport by going to watch baseball.

Our lovely Andrew is a man of many hidden talents. Last Christmas he discovered a knack for making beautiful woven willow wreaths (with minimal tuition) and he recently surprised both us and himself with his posy making skills. Perhaps a future in floristry beckons!
