Opportunities for the Organic Blooms / Natureworks leadership team to spend quality time together away from Organic Blooms are all too rare. Recently, however, we put that to rights with a fabulous visit to Iford Manor, south of Bath.
Jo, Wendy, Nic, Lou, Katy, Lisa, Gill and Lucy were treated to a potted history of the manor and grounds by owner William Cartwright-Hignett before exploring the wonderful grade 1 registered garden. Evocative architectural features provide a romantic backdrop and structure for gorgeous mature planting. Secret spaces and a series of terraces filled with billowing borders and specimen shrubs and trees make this very special garden feel considerably larger than its two acres and the team spent a gorgeous couple of hours exploring and spotting varieties to try back at Organic Blooms.
Quality time spent together, a delicious lunch of produce from Iford’s own walled kitchen garden – eaten at tables decked with flowers from their cutting garden – followed by a perusal of the plant shop rounded off a truly grand day out.
For inspiration for planning, planting and using your own cutting garden, keep an eye on our workshops page for our 2024 cutting garden workshop dates.
