Here at Organic Blooms we LOVE September (and not just because our kids go back to school!)

Autumn signifies the end of the season for us – and what a glorious season we had! Currently our trainees are busy clearing crops, rotavating beds and generally getting our soil in tip top condition for all the new flowers we’re planting.

We’ve been sowing our hardy annual seeds and potting on seedlings ready for next years crops. So you can expect beautiful Nigella, Cornflower, Larkspur, Calendula and Ami to bloom nice and early for in next season’s bouquets.

We’re also planting bulbs both outside and in our polytunnels. We added a new polytunnel this year so we’re hoping this will enable us to extend our season quite considerably. You can expect to see Anenome and Ranunculus as well as Tulips, and Narcissi in the early spring (Cheerfulness is our fave daff, such a lovely name!).  We’re also trying a few new alliums this year to keep things interesting!

We’ve had our meadow mowed and all in all we’re getting stuck in preparing for next year’s bumper crop.

We’re not all done yet though – beautiful autumn bouquets are still available, check out our online shop.
